A computational method could be used as an effective tool for determination of fire resistance in extreme design situation – fire. The main purpose of this article is to determine fire resistance of load-bearing and fire separating structures of modelled residential house, but also to point to the fact, that fire resistance of structures on timber base could be achieved without fire protective materials. For timber structures it is possible to define scopes of their applicability by determination of their fire resistance. The result of this article is to design a modelled residential house with a timber structural system, which meets requirements resulting from the current text of standards and regulations of fire safety in Slovakia. Material properties of building materials contained in load-bearing and fire separating structures are the only parameters, which will not meet the requirements. Cieľom príspevku je preto posúdenie požiarnej odolnosti nosných a požiarne deliacich prvkov modelovej stavby na báze dreva overovacími metódami uvedenými v Eurokóde 5 (STN EN 1995-1-2: 2008) a poukázať na skutočnosť, že aj viacpodlažné stavby na báze dreva dokážu v požadovanom čase požiarnej odolnosti odolať účinkom plne rozvinutého požiaru.
