The use of kinetic theory of solid strength was suggested, which had been previously confirmed for particleboard. Developed mathematical model of durability enables to determine the time of destruction of different thickness MDF with different types of surface finishing under the influence of thermal and power loads on panels with moisture content in the range from 6% to 20%. It comprises calculation of MDF thermoactivation parameters based on experimentally determined bending strength and destruction time under temperature ranging from 20 °С to 80 °С. Results of calculations correspond to weighted average service life of furniture intended for kitchen applications.
