Kirchhoff, Sebastian Design and construction of an acoustic wood impression stand [elektronický zdroj] / Sebastian Kirchhoff ; vedúci dipl. práce Martin Čulík. -- Zvolen, 2024. -- DF-104121-21693 - Slovenské resumé - Diplomová práca, TU Zvolen, DF KDS - The thesis focuses on the design, construction and evaluation of a specific interior furniture accessory enriched with acoustical elements. It is a synthesis of design, music and furniture functionality in one product. The subject of the work is the investigation, testing and optimization of this special product. The process from the first creative idea to the technically solved concept is described. The material selection and purchase has been realised and all the materials have been run through the tests of physical, mechanical and acoustical properties using non-destructive methods of tests like resonant frequency modal analysis. Also, its micro-structure has been analysed to prove its qualities for this special project. The whole manufacturing process has been realised with all its special detail like fixing the board defect with inlay, tuning the board using modal analysis with Chladni patterns in 1.2 and 5 modes. After assembling, the whole product has been tested by analysing its sound spectre like a musical instrument comparing it to reference double bass with the same construction and size. Furthermore, the audio devices performance has been measured. The object has been presented as a furniture solitaire, describing its dimensions for users, its ergonomics, safety and investigating the functionality during daily practical use and all its furniture aspects. Benefits from this work include better understanding of the acoustical behavior of materials and construction of violin family instruments, especially the double bass. This knowledge leads to possibilities of modifying materials and construction of classical string instruments. The design idea and realization of this special product can also contribute to the experimental field of furniture products with acoustical elements enlighten some design solutions. - Elektronický zdroj.
