$a Preservation of cultural heritage is an actual global problem. A great deal of culture heritage is formatted by information stored on lignocellulosic carriers. In present, treatment of these materials is realized by deacidification to eliminate main degradation mechanism - acid hydrolysis. Several new processes have been developed for complex protection of lignocellulosics to influence of various degradation mechanisms simultaneously. In this work three series of modified and one series of control (unmodified) samples were undergone to accelerated ageing at 98 °C for 0, 3, 5, 10 and 15 days. We compared the efficiency of multifunction modification system to effect of particular conservation substances (deacidification agent - magnesium ethoxide and titanium ethoxide (METE) and an antioxidant - 4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetrametylpiperidine (DAO3)) on samples of pure cellulose - Whatman paper. Degree of polymerization (DP) and molecular weight distribution (MWD) of cellulose samples were determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) as their cellulose tricarbanilates (CTC). DP of cellulose is linear function of time: DP = A0 + K·DAY (R2 = 0.82−0.99) in the investigated interval of accelerated ageing. Degradation rate of DP decreases 1.5-fold with application of DAO3; 5-fold with METE+DAO3 and 6-fold with METE as compared to unmodified sample.

$a Cieľom práce bolo sledovanie vplyvu rôznych modifikačných sústav (deacidifikačná látka, antioxidant, kombinácia deacidifikačnej aj antioxidačnej látka) na spomalenie degradácie celulózy pri urýchlenom starnutí papiera.
