Gaertn.) of the Kremnické hills $f Michal Bugala, Ladislav Dzurenda, Ľubomír Pňakovič 215 $c Obr., tab. 320 $a Lit. 330 $a In this contribution, there are presented findings of the experimental works in order to determine production characteristics of natural coppice of alder (Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn.) and primary combustion characteristics of woodchips obtained from the top of crown parts after timber harvesting. Based on experimental works there has been stated that the values of the BAI growth along the gradient altitude oscillate from 1638 ± 453 to 3363 ± 928 mm2. The average growing stock has a value of 223.2 m3·ha?1. The average volume of dendromass of branches is 51.4 m3.ha-1, which weight in a dry state is 22.6 t·ha?1. Relative humidity of biofuel – woodchips is Wr = 55.13 ± 0.35 % and share of barks XK = 12.46 ± 0.78 %. Share of individual elements in the combustible is the following for each element: ??Š?????? = 51.14 %, ??Š?????? 5.75 %, ??Š?????? = 0.68 %, ??Š?????? = 42.43 %. In the comparison with chemical composition of the combustible - wood of deciduous trees, the combustible of woodchips has 6.8 % times higher content of endothermic component - nitrogen. Production of ash from dry woodchips of the analyzed plants is Ad = 8.1 – 13.1 %. Based on the comparison of the lower heating value ??Š?? = 18,457 kJ·kg?1 of the energy woodchips in dry state (Wr = 0 %) with the energy woodchips made of fast-growing trees there can be stated, that the lower heating value of dry alders woodchips is comparable with the lower heating value of dry woodchips made of plantation grown dendromass. The lower heating value at the time of harvest due to a high humidity reaches a value of one-third of the lower heating value at the dry state and for the air-dry state (Wr = 25 %) it is the value of 12,996 kJ·kg?1. 330 $a V danom príspevku sú prezentované výsledky experimentálnych prác vykonaných za účelom stanovenia produkčných vlastností prirodzených porastov jelše lepkavej a základných energetických vlastností štiepky získanej z vrcholových častí korún po ťažbových zásahoch danej dreviny. Skúmanými energetickými vlastnosťami boli stanovenia: podiel kôry v energetickej štiepke, relatívna vlhkosť, chemické zloženie horľaviny, obsah popola a výhrevnosť štiepky. 463 -1
