    AnnotationFinancing is a mechanism by which policies are translated into action. Without adequate financing, even the best plans remain in the realm of rhetoric and good intentions (WHO, 2003). In the Czech and Slovak Republics, mental health financing is becoming a more important issue in health policy as well as overall economic policy. Public expenditures are increasing, and mental health will be an important driver of demand for health and social care, due to an increase in mental health problems as well as quality improvements in health services
