    AnnotationTourism has nowadays become one of the main players in the ‎international trade and represents one of the main income ‎sources for many developing countries. The aim of the paper is to analyse the economic impact of tourism in developing countries, compare the results according to the tourism regions and measure the importance of tourism in the economy of developing countries. In order to measure the economic impact of tourism, the input-output model is adapted to the conditions of tourism economic impacts. The article introduces a comprehensive overview of the tourism impact in developing countries, classified into tourism regions according to the UNWTO. For each region the minimum and maximum values as well as median were calculated, in order to reduce the variability within the regions. As the indicators of economic impacts of tourism, the visitor export, contribution to GDP and employment, capital investment in tourism, government and domestic spending were selected. The article concludes that tourism is a great factor of national economies in the developing countries located in the regions of Caribbean, Oceania and North Africa. Tourism in developing countries should be developed according to good governance principles. UNWTO developed principles of good governance which are written in Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. The presented research supports the fact that tourism as an economic activity influences the economies of the developing countries as the analysed economic impacts of tourism have a high share in the economic structure of destinations
