    AnnotationThe paper deals with current problems of music taste of young people and focuses on its formation through making music. The research sample consisted of students of pre-primary and primary education, music in combination and school music ensembles in full-time and part-time study. The main tool for data acquisition was a questionnaire with scaling questions, we used mathematical-statistical methods (descriptive statistics, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, median, min. max.), Inductive statistics: Mann-Whitney U test, EXCEL and SPSS 19.0.0). The results show the positive influence of making music on the creation of taste preferences, especially in the field of classical music
