These changes are caused by internal and external factors which influence their development conditions as well. The aim of this article is to present the implementation of tourism area life cycle (TALC) model based on example of High Tatras region. We critically evaluate the sustainability of its development trend in relation to economic, social and environmental indicators of tourism development. As a material we use wide secondary data as well as the results of the primary research based on selected sample of local residents to present their perception of the impacts of tourism development in examined tourism area.
