V úvode je definované postavenie frazém v odbornom texte, definícia kultúrnej inteligencie v súvislosti s komunikačnými kompetenciami ako aj definícia samotnej frazeológie ako reflexie kultúrneho a historického pozadia jazyka. V jadre príspevok analyzuje výsledky výskumu, realizovaného medzi študentmi Fakulty politických vied a medzinárodných vzťahov UMB. Výsledky výskumu poskytli základ pre ďalšiu analýzukultúrneho potenciálu frazém z prostredia spomínaných vedeckých oblastí. V príspevku sú uvedené príklady frazeologických jednotiek, excerpovaných z odborných textov známych autorov, ktorí publikujú v analyzovaných a príbuzných vedeckých odboroch. Frazémy sú uvádzané samostatne, alebo v kontexte. V závere príspevku je zhrnuté postavenie frazémv súvislosti s ich reflexiou v interkultúrnych kompetenciách spojených s procesom adaptácie každého jednotlivca na nové, alebo meniace sa podmienky v spoločnosti. Na záver autorka poskytuje stručný pohľad na praktickú aplikáciu výsledkov výskumu. The paper deals with an analysis of specialized phrasemes that appear in the academic texts within the sphere of political science and international relations in both – English and Slovak languages. The introduction offers a definition of the status of idioms in the academic texts, the definition of cultural intelligence in accordance with the communication competencies, as well as the phraseology itself, being a reflection of the cultural and historical basis of a language. The core of the paper focuses on the results of a survey realised among the students of political science and international relations. The results of survey offer the basis for further analyses of the cultural potential of phrasemes in the above mentioned scientific fields. The paper Works with the examples of phraseological units, excerpted from the academic texts written by famous authors publishing in the researched and related scientific fields. The idioms are used individually or in the context. The final part of the paper the author sums up the status of phrasemes in the academic texts in accordance with their reflection of intercultural competencies connected to the process of every single individual´s adaptation onto new or changing conditions of society.
