AnnotationThe paper brings ideas for inquiry-based activities of pupils at lower secondary education level from the Heat thematic unit. The activities, originally designed for the use in the classroom, have been modified to be usable in distance education as well. Physics teachers were provided with teaching materials and worksheets for pupils, which were created to develop an understanding of heat phenomena as well as to support and enable the development of pupils’ inquiry skills within today’s untraditional learning conditions. Feedback from teachers was obtained through evaluation questionnaires and interviews. Pupils' worksheets were also analyzed. The acquired knowledge allows formulating recommendations for the creation of other similar activities.
