AnnotationMigrations are part of human civilization development and are related to changing living conditions. The integration of migrants into society in a new country takes place at the socioeconomic, civic-political, and cultural levels, and affects the cultural, ethnic and national identity of the individual. Members of the same national, ethnic, or religious community in a foreign country thus create natural diasporas that help preserve the traditions, cultural specificities, and values of their homeland. Slovaks living abroad are no exception and form diasporas in more than 25 countries of the world. In this context, the aim of the paper is to identify social and economic possibilities of supporting the Slovak diaspora in France. To achieve the goal, we analyze secondary data collected from 2019 to 2023. We find out that the support of the Slovak diaspora in France is focused mainly on educational activities and support of children and youth. However, financial assistance to support activities has been decreasing since 2020. Our findings are formulated as a case study, the aim of which is to bring closer the current state of the Slovak diaspora and outline possibilities for their improvement in the future.
