Muránska planina Mts Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic systematics 581 Annotation The paper presents results of bryophyte research on meadow and wetland habitats in the area Muránska planina Mts and its near vicinity. Bryophyte research was conducted at 137 sites in the study area. Altogether 58 taxa of bryophytes (2 liverworts and 56 mosses) were recorded. Presence of the rare and threatened species Atrichum angustatum, Bryum uliginosum, Dicranum bonjeanii and Didymodon luridus is concidred significant. Four taxa Atrichum angustatum, Brachythecium campestre, Brachythecium geheebii and Didymodon luridus have been recorded in the study area for the first time. The recorded bryophyte taxa were analyzed from chorological and ecological viewpoint.
