Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic Annotation Alex Pavesi: An editor cracking Eight Detectives The paper deals with the character of a fictive literary editor, Julia Hart, in Alex Pavesi’s novel Eight Detectives. The novel has an unusual structure, which will be analysed. It consists of eight detective short stories, which aim to demonstrate the possible permutations within this genre. Editor Julia Hart visits writer Grant McAllister to consult a re-edition of his old book, which gives rise to a ninth detective story framing the whole text, in which the editor becomes the detective. The book has been translated into Slovak by the author of the paper and edited by Anna Gálisová. The translation was published in 2022 by the Lindeni Publishing House.
