AnnotationThe aim of this paper is to determine the basic characteristics of the smallest dust particles (dimensions and shapes) obtained from the process of MDF profiling on two machines UNIMAT 23EL and POWERMAT 1000, with various tools and revolutions per minute. Determination of dimensions and shapes of dust particles was realized by Microscope KAPA 2000. The dimension of the smallest dust particle was 2,6 x 2,6 μm for both samplings. The curves of residues did not confirm the particles PM2,5 and the share of particles PM10 is approximately 1,5 %. The calculated elongations of the smallest dust particles is 1,73 and therefore these particles are classified as isometric
