This paper deals with the topic of education in field of using mobile application Esko as a tool for developing communicative competence in Slovak as a hereditary language. Using educational mobile applications in the current school environment is becoming increasingly popular not only in the Slovak schools. The paper introduces the application ESKO aimed at teaching Slovak as a hereditary language and explains didactic approach applied in the application.
