Kalický, Juraj, 1967- Americké vojensko-strategické myslenie v období studenej vojny - zrod svetovej hegemónie / Juraj Kalický. -- The article deals with respective hegemonial aspects of the US Cold War grand strategies. The chosen military-historical approach is based on the realistic paradigm of international relations theory, and the analysis itself focuses mainly on geopolitical aspects that played a significant role in the creation and implentation of these strategies. The attention is paid to phenomena such as US national interests, strategic goals, prospects, possibilities, disparities between given tasks, limits and real needs to lessen Soviet military threats and intentions, the ratio of the use of power to the real existence of Soviets threats, as well as the effectiveness to harmonize the aims of particular strategies with US military and strategic potential. The results of the analysis are supposed to reveal and point to the fact that the US had been determined to pursue competetive military internationalism along with the policy of global hegemony long before any Soviet threats appeared at the beginni
