Novák, Daniel, 1952- The role of modern information technologies in the media education of police officers = The prospecties of kits in school education of subject matter of elektrotechnics / Daniel Novák, Marie Houšková. -- The paper focuses on the area of the role and the utilisation of modern information and communication technologies in the field of media education of police officers. The paper gives information about the outcomes of a pedagogical research carried out among the students of one class of the Initial Professional Training and of one class of Upper Secondary Vocational Education from the Police Colleges within the Czech Republic. The aim of the research was to find out the level of media literacy at newly enrolled police officers as well as the media literacy that had been gained by other police officers within their lifelong professional education. The outcomes of the research, which was conducted in the framework of European Structural Funds, have become the basis for the creation of a new educational programme for police officers, which can also be used in other European countries
