AnnotationThe paper is the review of the changes in pedagogical research during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st Century in terms of approaches and themes of research especially in Slovakia. Changes in pedagogical science have been linked to the development of pedagogical research, the expansion of pedagogical efforts empirically exploring the terrain of the school and related phenomena and, in particular, the influence of tendencies in other related human and social sciences, which have consciously begun to be defined in other areas by their own methodological principles and conventions
