| Annotation | US international political activities and sport policy account for very closely related topics regarding the efforts of US citizens in this spheres. Presumably, sport as such plays a very important role in the US home as well as foreign policy not only recently, but it was also crucial in the past. This fact can be proved by, e.g. ping-pong or baseball diplomacy or, better to say, by making use of basketball during the long US history in order to enforce American values. The article is aimed at an integral role of sport, mainly in relation to a great number of immigrants to the US, wherein socialising processes are crucial. Furthermore, a level of transparency and significance of four aspects of sport policy incorporated in the US foreign policy will be taken into consideration, i.e. sport emissaries, visitors, grants and the enhancement of girls´ as well as women´s status achieved via American sport diplomacy. |
