The main character, a bank clerk, who leads a stereeotypical life, is arrested, but during the investigation he is left a large. The trial starts, although he has commited no crime and it ends when he is killed. The author of this paper tries to analyse the plot, which is very symbolic, and the notion of guilt, applaying the elaborations and divisions of the philosopher like Jaspers and May. The fundamental question, not answered trough the whole plot, is: whose guilt it was which Kafka wanted to point at: was it the collective guilt or the guilt of the individual? Slovensko Language English Country Slovak Republic systematics 57 Annotation Association Artemisio santonici-Festucetum pseudovinae SOÓ in MÁTHÉ 1933 corr. BORHIDI 1996 is considered as one of the most abundant plant communities of saline habitats in the Pannonian Plain. The paper presents information about its current distribution in Slovakia. The obtained results were compared with historical data. Vegetation changes and the overall state of association in the past and today are commented. Although the association is considered to be primarily community of salt soils, the vegetation is able to create also on the largely disturbed places. Primary and secondary vegetation are comparable. Both were characterized by dominance of the two taxa: Artemisia santonicum subsp. patens and Festuca pseudovina. Secondary vegetation currently prevails in Slovakia. The natural communities we have sampled only on a few places (the Mostové Nature Reserve, Jatov, Kamenín, Kamenný Most). Due to the current state of saline habitats and absence of conservation management, we consider the association as critically endangered in Slovakia Public work category ADF No. of Archival Copy 17366 Catal.org.
