Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Great Britian Annotation The paper presents a view of the crowdfunding phenomenon in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, identifying factors that determine the success of non-profits on crowdfunding platforms operating in two (post-) Communist CEE countries in terms of the two-sided market theory. Slovensko Language French Country France systematics 316.7 Annotation Depuis 1989, la société civile a joué un rôle essentiel dans la construction de la vie démocratique du nouvel État slovaque. Pourtant, la Slovaquie hérite d’un certain retard dans la formation d’une société civile active que la trop courte expérience démocratique de l’entre-deux-geurres n’a pu combler. C’est en luttant contre la dictature communiste et en faisant face aux égarements autoritaires et populistes des années 1990 que renaît la société civile en Slovaquie. Si elle voit ses conditions d’existence s’améliorer, la société civile slovaque d’aujourd’hui reste mobilisée en faveur des valeurs démocratiques qu’elle continue à incarner mais souffre de l’absence de bases solides pesant sur son avenir.
