AnnotationThe article describes the process of forming the wood dust filtration resistance generated during furniture production using the honeycomb board technology in a filtering installation operating in industrial conditions. The influence of the service life of the filter fabric on the filtration resistance values in industrial conditions for one installation and one type of filter fabric was analyzed. For this purpose, filter bags made of one type of filter material were used in an industrial filtering installation at four different times. The results were compared to those previously obtained at the same factory but with a different filter bag type. The analysis was based on the changes in the flow resistance of clean and dust-laden air through the filter fabric used at various times in the filtering installation of the narrow-surface treatment line in a furniture factory. This allowed for the determination of the dynamics and nature of changes in filtration resistance in industrial conditions for wood dust. The values of the dust resistance coefficient depend on the operating time and increased to the level of 20,594 [s􀀀1] for material A and from 6412.031 [s􀀀1] to 10,128.94 [s􀀀1] for material B. The dimensional characteristics of the filtered dust and the technological conditions under which it was generated were also described.

AnnotationThe aim of the paper is to determine the granulometric composition of chip removed from the beech lumber milling process using a CNC machining center SCM Tech Z5 in the range of commonly used technical and technological parameters under standard conditions of feed speed: v(f) = 1 divided by 5 m.min(-1) and the thickness of the removed layer: e = 1, 3 and 5 mm. Another goal of the paper was to select a suitable separation technique that would be sufficient to effectively capture the largest possible dispersion of fractions in the beech lumber milling process. Granulometric analysis showed that under the given conditions in the milling process the largest proportion of coarse and medium coarse fraction is formed and particles with a size smaller than 32 mu m are not formed. For this reason, it is our recommendation to choose a combination of dry mechanical separators together with fabric filters, as mechanical separators are able to capture mainly larger particle fractions. Fabric filters would serve to trap any finer particles, thus saving the user from greater wear of the coarse and medium coarse fractions, which would increase the wear of the filter cloth to an increased extent.

AnnotationControlling is an effective tool used to manage the future of an enterprise actively. Its implementation and enforcement is a long-term, difficult and complex process that is specific and inimitable for each enterprise. All internal stakekolders (owners, managers, employees) need to be prepared for the implementation and use of controlling in an enterprise, respecting the barriers and benefits of this management tool. The aim of the paper was to identify the most important financial and non-financial benefits and barriers affecting the employees of wood-processing enterprises in controlling implementation into business practice. The empirical research into the given issue was conducted in a form of questionnaire in Slovak wood-processing enterprises. In order to evaluate the research results, the descriptive, graphical and mathematic-statistical methods were used. Based on the research results, recommendations were formulated to highlight key financial and nonfinancial benefits, or bar
