Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country China Annotation Introduction: Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) can be a nociceptive source of the pain in lower back. Clinical diagnosis of SIJ pain remains yet problematic. The cause of SIJ pain is multifactorial. The pain may be a result of an inflammatory disease, arthrosis, traumatic injury, infectious process or overload. The potential role in SIJ examination have pain provocation tests. Objective: To review and further discuss the validity of some of the mostly used clinical provocation tests such as Distraction test, Thigh Thrust test, Compression test, Sacral Thrust test, Patrick’s (FABER), Gaenslen’s test, Standing Flexion Test, Gillet Test and Shimpi Prone test. Method: A literature search was conducted using PubMed. Reviewed were studies between 2005 and 2020 in English, Slovak and Czech with keywords: sacroiliac joint, sacroiliac assessment, provocation tests. The methodology of studies was not considered. Discussion: It is challenging to determine whether SIJ is the actual source of the pain by using only one of the provocation tests. Therefore, it is beneficial to combine more compression tests, what will also increase the validity of testing. Other widely used SIJ tests are palpation test, however their validity is poor. Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Poland Annotation Abstract Background and Study Aims: Judo is a sport that requires combination of multiple demanding training attributes. Little is known about the impact of a long-term practice on the ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion. The aims of this pilot study is knowledge about dorsiflexion range of motion in the judokas in comparison to the football players. Material and Methods: The sample included 20 judokas with a mean age of 20.15 years (±4.17). The mean weight of the judokas was 82.15 kg (±15.5). The mean height of the judokas was 180.40 cm (±7.46). The control group consisted of 22 football players with a mean age of 21.63 (±3.40). The mean weight of the football players was 75.90 kg (±6.67). The mean height of the football players was 181.27 cm (±5.86). Results: The mean right ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion in judokas was 43.15° ( ±6.71). The mean right ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion in football players was 41.02° (±5.72). The mean left ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion in judokas was 43.90° (± 6.68). The mean left ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion in football players was 42.09° ( ±7.17). Non-significant difference was finding between groups in right (p = 0.357) or left (p = 0.284) ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion. Conclusions: Greater ankle joint dorsiflexion range of motion was found in judokas. Better adaptation in favour of the judokas means greater variability in the movement of the ankle towards the dorsiflexion in the judoist training process. Judo leads to better adaptation in the ankle joint towards dorsiflexion in ankle joint in compared to football players. However, results were no statistically significant. Dorsiflexion in the ankle joint occurs naturally in many lower limb roles associated with locomotion. Dorsiflexion in the ankle joint is essential for walking. Restriction of movement in the ankle joint leads to a greater Die Dorsal generation of forces in pronation and supination acting in the ankle joint. Restriction of movement in the ankle joint leads to an increased risk of individual injuries. Restriction of movement in the ankle joint leads to an alternation of movement when walking. People with restricted movement in the ankle tend to have shorter phase on gait cycle. Dorsiflexion occurs in a closed kinematic chain while walking. The optimal range of movement in the ankle joint in sport plays an important role. Measurement of the range of motion in the ankle joint can be performed in both open and closed kinematic chains. Method: Search for randomized and nonrandomized studies in Pubmed, Medline, Scopus databases. Search keywords: Weight bearing lunge test, range of motion, injury Results: Weight bearing lunge test in a closed kinematic chain has an important role in rehabilitation. Reduced range of movement towards dorsiflexion is a common manifestation of various conditions such as ankle sprain, chronic ankle instability, or ankle fracture. Restriction of movement in the ankle joint is also associated with potential injury due to the Achilles tendon. Restriction of ankle joint mobility can also contribute negatively to the overloaded arch of the foot. Measurement mobility of the ankle joint under load in preventing anterior cruciate ligament injury also plays an important role. Proper mobility also contributes to optimal patellar tendon function.
