    AnnotationA comparison between two fuzzy sets can be done by different comparison measures, by considering different points of view. In some cases these are measures of the equality degree (e.g. similarity measures) and in other cases the difference degree (e.g. dissimilarity measures, divergence measures and distance measures). Among these measures, divergences appear as a good alternative in some cases.

    AnnotationConvexity is one of the most important geometric properties of sets and a useful concept in many fields of mathematics, like optimization. As there are also important applications making use of fuzzy optimization, it is obvious that the studies of convexity are also frequent. In this paper we have extended the notion of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets in order to fulfill some necessary properties. Namely, we have found an appropriate definition of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets on any ordered universe based on aggregation functions such that it is compatible with the intersection, that is, the intersection of two convex hesitant fuzzy sets is a convex hesitant fuzzy set and it fulfills the cutworthy property.

    AnnotationConvexity is a very important property in many areas and the studies of this property are frequent. In this paper, we have extended the notion of convexity for interval-valued fuzzy sets based on differ- ent order between intervals. The considered orders are related and their behavior analyzed. In particular, we study the preservation of the convex- ity under intersections, where again the chosen order is essential. After this study, we can conclude the appropriate behavior of the admissible orders for this purpose.

    AnnotationWe analyze cut properties of lattice and poset valued functions (fuzzy sets) of n- dimensional real variable with respect to convexity. In the lattice valued case, convexity of a fuzzy set is equivalent with the convexity of its standard cuts. Dealing with non stan- dard cuts, we show that unless the space of the values is a chain, such statement in gen- eral does not hold. We present analogue results in the more general setting of poset valued functions. We also prove that there exist lattice and poset valued functions whose cuts are precisely the convex sets of particular families. Our work is motivated by possible applica- tions of convex functions (e.g., in image processing)

    AnnotationWe analyze the existence of fuzzy sets of a universe that are convex with respect to cer- tain particular classes of fusion operators that merge two fuzzy sets. In addition, we study aggregation operators that preserve various classes of generalized convexity on fuzzy sets. We focus our study on fuzzy subsets of the real line, so that given a mapping F : [0, 1] × [0,1] → [0,1], a fuzzy subset, say X, of the real line is said to be F-convex if for any x,y,z ∈ R such that x ≤ y ≤ z, it holds that μX(y) ≥ F(μX(x),μX(z)), where μX : R → [0,1] stands here for the membership function that defines the fuzzy set X. We study the existence of such sets paying attention to different classes of aggregation operators (that is, the corresponding functions F , as above), and preserving F -convexity under aggregation of fuzzy sets. Among those typical classes, triangular norms T will be analyzed, giving rise to the concept of norm convexity or T-convexity, as a particular case of F-convexity. Other different kinds of generalized convexities will also be discussed as a by-product

    AnnotationAggregation of intuitionistic fuzzy sets is studied from the point of view of preserving vari- ous kinds of convexity. We focus on aggregation functions for intuitionistic fuzzy sets. These functions correspond to simultaneous separate aggregations of the membership as well as of the nonmembership indicators. It is performed by means of the so-called repre- sentable functions. Sufficient and necessary conditions are analyzed in order to guarantee that the composition of two intuitionistic fuzzy sets preserves convexity
