AnnotationThe article presents end evaluates foil transducers, namely conductive rubber and conductive ink, and their use in the pressure distribution measurement system Plantograf. The ability of both materials to act as transducer between pressure and electrical quantities is assessed by means of measurement on a robotized workspace; two electrode types and various ink layer thicknesses are studied. Basing on the measurements, we present graphically the dependency of the electrical resistance of the materials on the applied pressure. Although both materials proved their ability to act as a transducer in a planar sensor, they both exhibit some limitations. In case of rubber it is limited pressure range up to ca. 1 400 kPa and significant hysteresis of the material. The main limiting factor with conductive ink is its poor adherence to the electrodes, which poses important problem for its practical use, although this material evinces better transfer characteristics, particularly in the configuration with 7 μm ink layer and LD type electrode.

Článok podrobne opisuje elektronický ovládací systém prevodníku, a ďalej zatiaľ nepublikované merania s 3,5 mm elektródami. The article describes Plantograf V18, a planar tactile transducer, which converts the applied pressure into electric signal and enables a graphical presentation of the measured data; the new version V18 comes with some significant improvements and modifications. The device may be used everywhere where the pressure distribution between an object and surface is to be determined, e.g. in medicine or automotive industry. The article contains the detailed description of the transducer design and its electronic control circuits, as well as the yet unpublished measurements of pressure sensitivity with 3.5 mm electrodes

AnnotationThe paper describes the measurement procedure of pressure distribution in knee arthroplasty and it verifies the accuracy of mathematical model of the pressure in the artificial joint. First it briefly presents the composition of the artificial joint. Then it describes in detail the measurement procedure, i.e. the measuring machine, which simulates a human step cycle, and the layout and type of used sensors. Finally, the measured pressure data are compared with those from the mathematical model and its accuracy is evaluated.

AnnotationThe paper presents characteristics and measurement process of conductive ink of type DZT-3K, acting as a converter of pressure into electrical signal. It mentions basic properties of the ink, including the explanation of the principle of function. Further it describes the measurement process with tactile sensors with circular electrodes of type PD. It studies the dependency of electrical resistance of the ink on the applied pressure. Various setups with different ink layer thicknesses are compared and their suitability to act as pressure converter is finally discussed

AnnotationRecent design methods of reinforced retaining walls are based on several approaches at the earth pressure determination. Newer methods are developed to bring the design model closer to real conditions. The monitoring of the structures reinforced with the geosynthetics but shows some anomalies at wall displacements and reinforcement loads. A series of real structure monitoring and numerical modelling was involved to verify the recent design methods. This paper represents the results of these analyses aimed at the earth pressure due to the backfill of the wall and at the stress distributions along the reinforcement
