AnnotationConvexity is one of the most important geometric properties of sets and a useful concept in many fields of mathematics, like optimization. As there are also important applications making use of fuzzy optimization, it is obvious that the studies of convexity are also frequent. In this paper we have extended the notion of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets in order to fulfill some necessary properties. Namely, we have found an appropriate definition of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets on any ordered universe based on aggregation functions such that it is compatible with the intersection, that is, the intersection of two convex hesitant fuzzy sets is a convex hesitant fuzzy set and it fulfills the cutworthy property.

AnnotationConvexity is a very important property in many areas and the studies of this property are frequent. In this paper, we have extended the notion of convexity for interval-valued fuzzy sets based on differ- ent order between intervals. The considered orders are related and their behavior analyzed. In particular, we study the preservation of the convex- ity under intersections, where again the chosen order is essential. After this study, we can conclude the appropriate behavior of the admissible orders for this purpose.

AnnotationDissimilarities are a very usual way to compare two fuzzy sets and also two interval- valued fuzzy sets. In both cases, the dissimilarity between two sets is a number. In this work, we introduce a generalization of the notion of dissimilarity for interval-valued fuzzy sets such that it assumes values on the set of subintervals instead of the set of numbers. This seems to be more realistic taking into account the available information. We also investigate its relationship with the classical notions of dissimilarity between fuzzy sets and we obtain that the new class is richer than the existing one.

AnnotationIn this work we deal with a particular type of hesitant fuzzy set, in the case where membership values can appear multiple times and are ordered. They are called ordered ordinary fuzzy multisets. Some operations between them are introduced by means of an extension principle. In particular, the divergence measures between two of these multisets are defined and we have studied in detail the local family of divergences. Finally, these measures are related to the ones given for ordinary fuzzy sets

AnnotationAbstract: We show that a definition of convexity based on the convexity of the score function does not guarantee preservation of convexity under intersections and provide a concept of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets without this backdraw. We study the relationship between convex hesitant fuzzy sets and convex rough sets as their cuts

AnnotationThe comparison of sets is an important topic with application in several fields. Divergence measures were introduced as an adequate measure of comparison of two fuzzy sets and an alternative of the dissimilarities. The particular study for local divergences is here generalized to any t-conorm instead just the sum. The concept of divergence is revisited and studied in detail. This study is complemented with the whole characterization of a new family of divergence measures, the generalized local divergence measures. Some applications of these divergences in pattern recognition and decision making illustrate their utility.

AnnotationMN-convex and MN-concave functions are examined and compared for particular cases of M and N. Characteri- zation of pairs M,N for the family of MN-convex (MN-concave) functions consisting of all functions and partial characterization of pairs M,N for the family of MN-convex functions consisting of all constant functions will be presented. The condition of MN-convexity was proposed by Aumann in 1933. It was convexity with respect to arbitrary binary means M and N (abbreviated to MN-convexity). Recently many authors have considered this notion with suitable pairs of means. Here aggregation functions M,N will be used for this type of convexity and concavity

AnnotationWe analyze the existence of fuzzy sets of a universe that are convex with respect to cer- tain particular classes of fusion operators that merge two fuzzy sets. In addition, we study aggregation operators that preserve various classes of generalized convexity on fuzzy sets. We focus our study on fuzzy subsets of the real line, so that given a mapping F : [0, 1] × [0,1] → [0,1], a fuzzy subset, say X, of the real line is said to be F-convex if for any x,y,z ∈ R such that x ≤ y ≤ z, it holds that μX(y) ≥ F(μX(x),μX(z)), where μX : R → [0,1] stands here for the membership function that defines the fuzzy set X. We study the existence of such sets paying attention to different classes of aggregation operators (that is, the corresponding functions F , as above), and preserving F -convexity under aggregation of fuzzy sets. Among those typical classes, triangular norms T will be analyzed, giving rise to the concept of norm convexity or T-convexity, as a particular case of F-convexity. Other different kinds of generalized convexities will also be discussed as a by-product
