    AnnotationThe paper deals with the problem of individual well-being and its determinants in Slovakia. The focus is on the effect of unpaid work and its components on individual well-being. The paper uses data from a questionnaire survey conducted under the project VEGA No. 1/0935/13. The dominant part of our research is based upon the results of logit and probit regressions. The results suggest that in addition to the standard determinants of individual well-being identified in the literature such as health, gender and age, the scope and structure of unpaid work can be seen as another factor affecting the well-being of individuals in Slovakia. While some components of unpaid work have a positive impact on individual well-being, others have the opposite effect, which is an important finding for the development and implementation of effective policies, targeted at individuals and their well-being in society.

    AnnotationThe labour law as a system of law distinguishes the prohibition of discrimination of employees according to individual reasons for discrimination. The reasons for discrimination are the specific features of a personality that haven´t got the exact legal definition yet. The reasons for discrimination are in relation to the principle of equal treatment. This principle doesn´t mean the equal treatment with persons in same situations only, but exercising of that basic human right expresses meanwhile the demand for public authorities to treat with the authorized bearers of human rights in different situations variously. The aim of this article is the explanation of deep analysis of chosen reasons for discrimination in the system of labour law and also the brief explanation of the prohibition of discrimination in employment relationships. This article also contains the explanation of terms such as direct discrimination and indirect discrimination.
