Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Ukrainian Country Ukraine Annotation The article deals with the study of the meth ods of rendering Sovietisms as a kind of realia in the translations of Ukrain ian fiction published in English in the USSR and in the West. The study has revealed the principal methods of the Sovietisms rendering in the translations published in the West and in the Soviet Union and analyzed the use of foot notes and other paratextual elements accompanying their reproduction. It has been determined that functional analogue was the most widely used method to transfer Sovietisms in the translations published in the USSR, while calquing prevailed in the rendition of Sovietisms in the translations published abroad Public work category AEC No. of Archival Copy 54243 Catal.org.
