AnnotationLegislation in food is quite fragmented, it includes several regulations, amendments due to the rapid development both in the studied area and the influence of European law. It is a legal branch of a relatively hybrid nature. It contains agricultural legislation that intersects with environmental law. It also affects administrative, financial, and criminal law as a branch of public law. Nor can commercial and civil law as the basis of private law be circumvented here. The legal norm has undergone a relatively interesting development, which is characterized by several amendments. During the more than 25 years of validity of this legal norm, a total of more than twenty amendments. This certainly does not contribute to the stability of the legislation, the legal certainty of the entities concerned, or its clarity and system. The article provides an overview of the development of the legal regulation of the Food Act in Slovakia from 1995 to 2021.

AnnotationThe aim of the article is an effort to introduce readers to the problem of food waste in a comprehensive concept. It focuses on defining concepts, defining losses in the different phases of the food chain together with their environmental, economic and social impacts to the society. It also presents proposed or already applied solutions in connection with the effort to reduce food waste. More than 14 million tonnes. This is the amount of waste produced by Slovakia in 2018. Of this 2.1 million tonnes was municipal waste, which represents 393 kg per inhabitant per year. Unfortunately, this number is growing every year. Zero Waste concept encourages consumers to reduce consumption and recycling of acquired goods and materials, which in economic and social terms can bring regression under certain circumstances, to the detriment of environmental progress. If we do not begin to rationally analyze our own needs and at the same time intelligently manage the waste that we, as a human being, produce globally, we are at risk of significantly reducing the comfort of living. I assume and believe that this is not a vision that we would like to leave to future generations.

AnnotationThe aim of this paper is to analyze food security as a global security threat. Food security, according to several experts, will become one of the key areas that should be given more attention. Food insecurity in various regions of the world is linked mainly to the insufficient and failing distribution, as well as environmental aspects such as global warming, destruction of the environment, natural conditions of the country etc. The key role is also played by such factors as traditional threats such as war, terrorism, conflicts and failed states. Copenhagen school originally contributed to the analysis of the security from a sectoral perspective and allocated five basic security sectors. Developments of recent years have shown that it is necessary to expand these sectors, and one of the new sectors is a food security sector
