Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Spanish Country Italy Annotation In our paper, we deal with the semantic aspect of binary phraseological units in the Spanish and Slovak language. Our attention is paid to these units that contain the adjective in Spanish and in Slovak virtual /virtuálny. These specific phraseological units are studied as collocations (Corpas Pastor, 1996: 66). We have applied this approach with regard to the fact that these units on the one hand prove a certain degree of idiomaticity as well as fixity, but on the other hand they do not constitute any statements, or the act of speech. Through the analysis of these two languages we studied a quantitative aspect of collocations and their synonyms. Descr. články - journal articles Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic Annotation The main focus of the study is the qualitative inter-lingual confrontation of phraseological units within language for specific purposes. We have directed our attention to formal and structural aspect, more specifically to the qualitative viewpoint of equivalents of binary phrases and phrasal idioms between Spanish, as the source language, and Slovak, as the target language, which contain the adjective virtual (Spanish) – virtuálny (Slovak). The study is based on the Multilingual terminological database IATE, which provided us with relevant material for the performed analysis. Within the analysis, we observed motivation, metaphor, components of equivalents of the phrase, as well as the equivalents themselves in both compared languages. Besides Spanish and Slovak, in some cases, we also compared the LSP phrases with their English equivalents. Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Spanish Country Italy Annotation Antonio de Capmany (1786) defended the Spanish language, facing a disproportionate “afrancesamiento” that affected the Spanish nation in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, especially in times of the reigns of Charles III and Joseph Bonaparte. As a consequence of this he stressed, among other things, the power of Spanish derivative system. Among the examples that supported his thesis abound words with structure [a-N-ado]: acanelado, atabacado, amoratado, atigrado, anubarrado, abarquillado, acaramelado, etc. Later, Malkiel devoted to this type of formations two articles (1941a and 1941b), where he noticed certain peculiarities, as these voices reflect the verbal action without the previous existence of an equivalent verb. Moreover, he realized that “there are no words in French equivalent to abolsado, acanastillado, agranitado, nor qualifications as witty and savory as agabachado, agallegado, ajesuitado” (1941a: 283). The Russian linguist placed the climax of this type of formations by the year 1650. However, elsewhere (Šinková 2014) we have shown the productivity of the pattern [A-X-ADO] also for the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The aim of this article is through a contrastive analysis between the Spanish and the neighbouring Romance languages (French, Portuguese, Italian and Catalan) to identify the parasynthetic paradigm [A-X-AR] as a significant marker of Spanish linguistic identity –and therefore national– in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Descr. články - journal articles Language Spanish Country Slovak Republic Annotation The article studies formations of the [DES-X-IZAR] paradigm detected between 1850-1950. The paradigmatic morphology model and the theory of lexical motivation are applied. The lexemes exposed in the text reflect the characteristics of the occasionalisms, words whose creation is motivated by the needs of an individual and fulfil other characteristics: unpredictability, expressiveness, link to speech, non-reproducibility, among others. The peculiarity of the present analysis is that lexemes of [DES-X-IZAR] present potential words that fill gaps in the morphological system of language. Therefore, they can more easily undergo the process of individualizing demotivation. The diachronic character of analysis and the possible influence of a foreign language (French, English) represent other particularities we realize in the article.
