AnnotationThe CORINE Land Cover (CLC) inventory was initiated in 1985 (refe-rence year 1990). Updates have been produced in 2000, 2006, 2012, and 2018. It consists of an inventory of land cover in 44 classes. CLC uses a Minimum Mapping Unit of 25 hectares for areal phenomena and a minimum width of 100 m for linear phenomena. This article summarizes the Corine 2018 reference layer creation process in Slovakia along with other Copernicus products such as Corine Land Cover Changes, HRL, Urban Atlas. The following paper describes the crea-tion of the CLC reference layer in Slovakia

AnnotationSince 1955, the state has taken over the role of administrator of the tajchy of Banská Štiavnica. Through the Slovak Water Management Company, state-owned enterprise, the state has been implementing a reconstruction and revitalization program since 1996 under the title “Partial Reconstruction of Water Reservoirs in Banská Štiavnica”. Unfortunately it does not solve the problems with the devastation of supply sluices, nor the problems with micro-basins associated with increased erosion and consequently sediment transport and sedimentation in the water res- 8 Analysis of changes in volume capacity of selected artificial water reservoirs... ervoirs area. In effect it is gradually fouling and losing its total storage volume, even though the water reservoirs are under UNESCO protection and one of their newly defined functions is protection against floods. Despite all this, water reservoirs are still used to a large extent for recreation, extensive fish farming, and water accumulation contributing significantly to flood protection. They represent one of the dominant phenomena of the region’s distinctive appearance. During the whole period of mining in Banská Štiavnica, a number of reservoirs, both large and small, were gradually established, rebuilt and abandoned. A team of authors (Hydroconsult 1991) describes more than 60 such reservoirs. Today, however, we know there are more, which were not included in their work, and their traces are more or less visible in the terrain. They are currently subject to more detailed research. For example, smaller water reservoirs, now almost vanished, are built in several lateral and smaller valleys of the Hodruša valley, where only relics of former mining activity are found today. All existing and abolished water reservoirs were situated in the Hron or Ipeľ basins. Today, we distinguish these according to the geographic location of the individual micro-basins into the following groups: water reservoirs of Piargy, Banská Štiavnica, Kolp

AnnotationNumerous preserved historical mining works, technical objects and other monuments related to the history of mining in Slovakia, as in other European countries, are increasingly becoming the subject of thematically motivated tourists' exploratory and educational roads. Mining tourism along with geotourism are no longer new and slow-growing types of tourism. Their rapid development in recent decades requires not only better geosites management but also new forms of promotion, marketing and advertising. The ability to provide comprehensive services, extensive and quality information depends on the level of knowledge as well as on the ability to present and use progressive forms of information sharing. The article presents an analysis of the basis and possibilities of different ways of sharing geotouristically oriented information in the conditions of Slovakia. On specific examples of selected mining sites, the possibilities and functionality of the proposed multimedia-oriented guidebook for mining tourism are presented. It is a web-based application designed and continuously filled with information so that it is available at anytime, anywhere and to any one, in the form of an online portal available online. The application combines a wide range of diverse information and data (texts, pictures, photographs, animations, audio, virtual 3D models, etc.) in standardized formats. Based on its functionality, it enables various forms of spatial search and attribute sorting. It provides basic informations on the presence, availability and density of mining tourism attractions (primary and secondary offer of geotourism). The ability to search and filter information is based on the principle of multi-level analysis of datasets, allowing geosites to be filtered by location, by assigning an object to a thematic group, by any text string (by incomplete string too), or by displaying all objects in any of the selected browser windows. The article analyzes the pros and cons of the chosen way of presenting the monuments based on the evaluation of the author's web-map portal after the first years of its existence.

AnnotationThe main goal of this work was to verify the historic data of historic artificial water reservoir Ottergrund, Banská Štiavnica district, which is inscribed in the UNESCO world heritage list. Main focus was set to area-storage capacity curve. There is historic map with the display of reservoir bottom contours and area-storage capacity curve in a paper format. These data were analysed and compared with the results of the calculation of area-storage capacity curve that was performed with the use of a new tool with named "ASC_Curve", which is based on Python script. This tool utilizes ArcPy site package and it works with the TIN model of water reservoir bottom. In case of water reservoir Ottergrund we created the TIN model of the historic bottom; input data for the TIN model creation was the historic contour plan. The results of the analysis have shown that the storage capacity calculated with the use of the developed ASC_Curve tool is 97% of the volume mentioned in the historic map. Analysis has also show the minor mathematical errors in the calculations of the area-storage capacity data in historic contour plan. This tool can also be used also for the analysis of the current storage capacity conditions of the water reservoirs, if the surveying with echosounding equipment is performed to obtain the data to produce the TIN model of the water reservoir bottom.

PráUrčenie množstva sedimentov a pravidelná aktualizácia údajov o zmenách zásobných objemov vodných nádrží umožňujú včasnú reakciu a zreálnenie prognóz ďalšieho zanášania. Sú nutné pre vytvorenie relevantných predpokladov pre návrh efektívnych ochranných opatrení v povodí, vedúcich k minimalizácii negatívnych dôsledkov. Z tohto dôvodu by mali byť pravidelne aktualizované batymetrické mapy a modely reliéfu dna nádrží. Následnou realizáciou účinných opatrení je možné dosiahnuť nielen zmiernenie negatívnych dôsledkov, ale predovšetkým zníženie nákladov na prevádzku a údržbu nádrží

AnnotationThe present study focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the changes in the retention volume of the water reservoir Evička, the ecosystems of littoral, sublittoral and profundal zone as well as the changes in the land cover of the riparian zone and reservoir basin. The changes in reservoir volume were determined on the basis of a comparison of the actual bottom’s topography, acquired through field surveying with the bottom’s topography from the maps for a 40-year period (1971-2011). The volume of the sediments deposited in the water reservoir Evička for given period is 10917 m3. The changes in the landscape structures of riparian zone and reservoir basin, identified on the basis of the analysis of aerial measurement pictures, orthophotomap and field survey, were evaluated for the period of 1949-2012, i.e., 63 year. It is evident from the analysis of the landscape structure changes in the whole reservoir basin that the area of developed surfaces increased by 11.2% and the surface area of water reservoir Evička decreased by 1165 m2 during that period. We interpret these facts as the result of a negative anthropogenic effect, mainly by building activity within the reservoir basin and near the water reservoir. At the same time, the contribution presents possible measures for the management of water reservoir Evička and its surroundings

AnnotationThis article focuses on an analysis of the storage capacity of Vindšachta water reservoir in Štiavnické Bane, Banská Štiavnica district, at two points in time: 1887 (old) and 2014(current). The analysis was performed using an old bathymetry map dated 1887 and current data from sonar surveying (2014). The analysis was performed by comparing water volumes calculated from digital elevation models of the reservoir bottom for each year, using an area-storage capacity curve. During the period between the two years, the water volume decreased to 85% of the initial storage capacity (from 335 000 m3 to 285 000 m3)
