AnnotationStudie popisuje antropogenní transformace odlesněné horské krajiny (vysokohorské pastviny) v nejvyšších částech Ďumbierských Tater, v Nízkotatranském národním parku v průběhu 20. století, jako základního biotopu opětovného rozšíření kamzíka horského. Popisuje plošné změny antropogenních holin ve vztahu k rozvoji cestovního ruchu a s ním spjaté infrastruktury (rekreačních zařízení), případně suprastruktury (horských dopravních zařízení) v masivu Chopku a Ďumbiera.

AnnotationThis study analyzes the issue of mining brownfields (sites abandoned after the extraction of minerals) in terms of their secondary use after revitalization as potential new sites of mining tourism. In the first part of the paper, we deal with the theoretical basis of the study, the conceptualization of mining brownfields, possibilities for their revitalization, and their sustainability for mining tourism. In the second part, we analyze mining brownfields as devastated mining sites using a questionnaire survey conducted among students of geotourism and geography at three Slovak universities in Košice, Banská Bystrica, and Prešov. The result of our several years of field research was a database of mining brownfields in Slovakia. According to our findings and the latest theoretical and methodological literature about other types of brownfields, we compiled a comprehensive definition of mining brownfields. The questionnaire survey confirmed that mining brownfields are interesting destinations for (mining) tourism with long-term sustainability. The equipment of the services did not directly determine the number of visitors, who did not perceive the risk and danger of visiting mining brownfields.

AnnotationThe study deals with the history of Cu (±Ag)- and locally Fe- ore mining in the locality Peklo near Ľubietová in central Slovakia. The emphasis is on the evidence of mining in the local landscape relief during the period of 16th to the 19th century. Anthropogenic landscape changes were examined on the basis of written archival documents, cartographic sources and field research. An important part of the investigation was the use of data obtained from aerial laser scanning (LIDAR) to research mining anthropogenic relics in the contemporary landscape. The study deals with the identification of these shapes in situ, their morphological and morphometric properties. The conclusion points to the positives, but also the negatives of the methodical use of LIDAR data in the mining research of historical relief relics

AnnotationDespite the fact that computer technologies, digitization, and social networks are used and preferred almost in all spheres of life, information boards installed as part of educational trails have an irreplaceable role in tourism. The aim of the presented study is to point out the importance of information boards in mining tourism. The first part of the study analyses the theoretical and methodological aspects and procedures of notice boards, their content classification and suitable use in situ. Methodologically correctly constructed illustrated notice boards are a suitable and often irreplaceable visual tool of old mining sites or mining trails. The second part of the article is dedicated to a case study of preparing, making and promoting the installation of illustrated notice boards using the example of the mining educational trail in Vyhne (Central Slovakia) which was open in 2016 under the name "In the Footsteps of Mining Activities". The stationary boards installed along the trail serve their function and are actively used in mining tourism. The third part of the study analyzes the instructions for creating external notice boards from the perspective of the recommended limits (time intervals) needed for the identification of directions and for reading and understanding pictograms, illustration and texts. The aim of the questionnaire survey carried out on a group of respondents was to verify the previously published and recommended rules for compiling the content and range of the information published on boards or to modify them according to the specific conditions defined by a particular topic and area. The research results show that the text must be well-arranged and brief, graphically interesting containing appropriate topics.
