Western Africa Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic Annotation The aim of this article is to analyse the security environment of Western African region, focusing on the regional and externally driven strategies and programmes to build security architecture within the troublesome region. It copes mainly with the ECOWAS activities as for the regional perspectives and EU contribution to security sector sphere as one of the external actors in the region.
