Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Czech Republic Annotation Searching for the optimal saving strategy is often tied with the life-cycle strategies where only the age of a saver is considered for setting the allocation profile between equities and bonds. Our article contributes to the debate by looking at the performance and adequacy risks arising from applying age-based saving strategies for savers in funded pension schemes. As many studies have proven the shift of the risk onto savers in defined contribution pension schemes under various saving strategies, we contribute to the debate by providing simulations of expected accumulated savings via funded pension scheme under the various life-cycle income profiles and existence of unemployment risk. Using the resampling simulation technique, we compare the fixed and age-based strategies of three different agents with various life-cycle income paths and different unemployment risk. We compare the expected amount of savings and calculate relative indicators comparing the expected monthly benefits, income replacement rate. We look closely on the impact of unemployment on the value of savings and calculate the unemployment factor explaining the value of savings lost due to the periods of unemployment. By combining life-cycle income functions of individuals with different education level and unemployment risk, we show that decisions of implementing low risk saving strategies are suboptimal and lead to a substantial decrease in replacement ratios not only for higher income cohorts but especially for the lowest ones. At the same time, we prove that employing low risk saving strategy leads to the increase of adequacy risk especially driven by the unemployment risk that is higher for lower education individuals. This behaviour is the prerequisite for implementing cooperative destination management, which is seen as a tool for strengthening destination competitiveness and influencing the economic impact of tourism. The aim of the paper is to analyse the dependence between the development stages of cooperative destination management and the economic impacts of tourism in Slovakia and to examine the influence of the destination life cycle on cooperative behaviour in selected destinations. Several statistical methods are used to meet the aim of the paper, such as the Spearman correlation coefficient and hierarchical cluster analysis. V súčasnosti sa s biomasou spája aj iná významná úloha, a to jej využívanie na energetické účely. Snaha zvýšiť využívanie poľnohospodárskej biomasy vyžaduje komplexné hodnotenie celého procesu, ktorý musí byť riadený tak, aby zabezpečil udržateľnosť a environmentálnu stabilitu. Analýza materiálových tokov je jedným z efektívnych nástrojov takéhoto hodnotenia. Hodnotenie dostupnosti a využívania biomasy sú kľúčové aspekty pre udržateľné využívanie biomasy na energetické účely. Takáto analýza bola použitá pri hodnotení poľnohospodárskej biomasy, jej produkcie a využívania na Slovensku v rokoch 1990 až 2008. Výsledky naznačili, že základným problémom na Slovensku nie je dostupnosť biomasy ale udržateľný manažment jej využívania. (Agricultural biomass has an irreplaceable role in satisfying human food consumption. Nowadays, another important role is connected with agricultural biomass, and that is its utilisation for energy purposes. Efforts to increase use of agricultural biomass needs evaluation of complete systems which must be conducted to assure that development do move towards sustainability and environmental stability. Material flow analysis is one of the effective tools for carrying out this type of initial evaluation. Analysis of the availability and use of the biomass resources is crucial if biomass energy is to be used on a sustainable basis. Material flow analysis was used for agricultural biomass, its production and potential use for energy purposes in Slovakia for the years 1990 – 2008.
