Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language Slovak Country RS Annotation In the comparatively designed paper, some of the communication interactions that take place in the web media communication sphere are analysed. In addition to less favourable circumstances and often aggressive symptoms of online media communication with print affiliation, attention is focused on the existence and relations of online discussions to the source media products and their participants in a collective, group and individual sense. Discussion boards (message boards) have become a value-related or value-forming platform for prosumers (producers of posts and, at the same time, consumers of media messages), meant to reach communication goals, fulfil diverse communication functions, achieve self-actualization or influence the virtual audience in a both beneficial and limiting sense. Discussion posts on the online media sites of the early 21st century demonstrably reflect the technological affluence achieved by the so-called advanced societies. The re-formatting of the current web-based debating standards is also contributed to by the administrators´ supervision of the development, content and reach of so-called comments and their moderation on discussion portals. Discussers do not pay too much attention to Internet etiquette (netiquette). On discussion boards, they see it as an established set of recommendations. They do not impose the workarounds of netiquette required a quarter of a century ago in their communication. There are hardly any inherently expressive vulgarisms or taboos to be found in discussion posts today. Glossing, allusiveness, verbal and semantic shorthand have developed, and displays of efforts to argue have increased. Ponderable arguments with a considerable explanatory value are used in the discussions below the initial texts. Alongside them, conveniently copied, paraphrased, superficially appealing components are also used. In online discussions, arguments are often put forth quickly, without proper verification or sourcing. In order to impress, pseudo-expert formulations or communication prefabrications are overused in argumentation. These are easily accessible, sometimes rather smart tools for persuasion and opinion or personal (self-) assertion. Pseudo-expert argumentation thus clogs up discussion posts with spam by diverting them from the main discussion threads, labelling the opposite viewpoints, etc. Skilled, usually long-term contributors with acquired insight know their constant communication competitors and enter into spontaneous or cached virtual duels with them. In doing so, they make use of the knowledge that discussions are also watched by an assumed, targeted or random, but always curious virtual audience. Duellists support their argumentative tactics with hyperlinks to multimodal resources and links to other environments. Depending on the subject matter or the discussers´ emotional control levels, the demonstrations of verbal attack and the insertion of dubious, or at least questionable - toxic, ballast components into the texts have been on the rise; even strong arguments are often dissolved in their frequency and predominance. Duellists almost always claim respect for their opinions. In this way, they strive to manifest themselves primarily as leading individuals or value benchmarks. In the interactive technological environment, contemporary discussion posts are shaped and published extremely quickly. As for verbalization and speech cultivation, shorter texts are being used, but no longer with traces of colloquialisation, "fuzzy" communication typical with accumulation of the capital letters, emoticons, acronyms, multiple copying of the same post, etc. The activation of the diacritical system and punctuation is returning to discussion boards. Discussions are being unified and flattened in terms of visibility. Expected but unfulfilled observations, themes or ideas lose their appeal. There are no clear differences between the discussion boards of the examined mainstream and participatory (autonomous) web media. The paper results in conclusion: in contrast to the dialogues on the discussion boards of the online periodicals from the beginning of the century, the value of expression is nowadays being reinforced, often with verbal exposure of the originators, participants or visitors of the discussion boards. Research findings, interpretations and generalizations signal the efforts of prosumers to find, confirm and defend their individual status or, at other times, to fight for a community reputation or a broader expressive modus operandi of a group among media and readers in a part of cyberspace.
