There is a positive correlation between the pupils´ attitudes and knowledge about certain groups of animals and therefore the increase of their knowledge structure can positively influence their pro-environmental attitudes. The misconceptions of pupils about birds are examined in terms of their internal body construction, habitus, migration, classification and so on. This paper presents a pupils´ perception of the dimension (wingspan) in the case of selected bird species.
