    AnotáciaThe paper investigates the role of particular categories of multi-word expressions functioning in the position of stylistic units that belong to different stylistic levels in texts in print mass media as they obviously create a tension between automation and actualization of these texts. the approach in the paper is based on the theories of reputable Slovak linguists working both in the field of linguistcs and mass media, which admittedly ensures interdisciplinary approach.
