    AnotáciaThe aim of the contribution is to introduce the possibilities of using alternative employment policy tools to support employment, namely social economy and social enterprises. In Slovakia, a law on social enterprises serving as work integration tool for long term unemployed has been in force since 2008. Based on this law, social enterprises have been founded following the basic ideas, principles and objectives of social economy. However, after the subsidies ceased to be provided, most of the social enterprises closed. At present we can see efforts to pass a new law on social enterprises and renew their operations.
