    AnotáciaPurpose: Small and medium-sized enterprises are in general facing a wide range of barriers and one of the most important barrier for their development is a lack of money. Therefore, the governments usually create a collection of support programs that help companies to eliminate these obstacles. The main aim of the paper is to evaluate how Slovak SMEs utilize support programs of the Slovak government and European Union in their business activities. On the base of the findings the paper will also contain suggestions how this type of support can become more available for Slovak companies in future.
