    AnotáciaSignificant East German writer Christa Wolf (1929 – 2011) returns in various stages of her work to her personal traumatic experience from the end of January 1945 when she and her family were forced to flee the approaching Red Army from her hometown of Landsberg an der Warthe (today Gorzów Wielkopolski). For a fifteen-year-old girl, the escape and the search for a new home in Mecklenburg become a turning point. The study focuses on the processes of literary remembering and the presentation of the past in the novels Patterns of Childhood and the City of Angels and in selected stories by the author, which demonstrate the changing strategies of coping with a traumatic experience
