The internationalization of universities accompanied by the high mobility of students and researchers working in multilingual environments increases the pressure on them to publish not only in English but also in other working languages. This study addresses written academic communication, specifically research article introductions written by Italian linguists and literary scholars on which rhetorical and linguistic features will be demonstrated.
