Technika, technológie a dobrý život (Nelámme palicu nad aplikovanou etikou) / Andrea Klimková. -- What is the role of the “useless” humanities in the times when technology has radically changed our life in comparison to the pre-modern era? What does this new turn in ontology, values, and culture require from people? The presented paper deals with the idea that if a value-based approach is entirely absent from technical sciences, it poses a risk for humans, their life, and dignity. Why? Because even in the era of science industrialisation and technocracy, all areas of human practice are still in need of moral values. According to Kondrla (2013), applied ethics perceives values as ideals or norms. The ethics of technology as a type of applied ethics combines theoretical investigation of the good and values with the actual human practice, and its ideals and norms are complementary.
