Svoráková, Soňa, 1954- Kam ideme? / Soňa Svoráková. -- Abstract: A quarter-century that has passed since November 1989, when compared with other historical stages of the Slovak society, belongs to historically most important period. Changes, that the Slovak society has gone through, are especially relevant in the social-cultural contexts of what existed before and what prevails now. Some members of the older generation mourn the old times of socialism, for the others the past remains just a recollection of bad dream. The generation of the twenty-five years old takes neutral approach to the past. After high acceleration of social, political and economic transformation processes, the polarized and ambiguous experience of the older generation seems to be groundless and inapplicable. Paradoxically, the society in the past century being able to take a critical stand to totalitarian politics and transform it into 1989 revolution, accepts Western capital ideology of knowledge society unconditionally today. What purpose are the educational processes in the Slovak education directed on to?
