What do terminological expressions in the media indicate? / Dagmar Škvareninová. -- Different groups of terminological expressions from print media are dealt with in this paper. Various groups of these expressions, which have been excerpted from the renowned magazine The Economist, are primarily studied in their pragmatic perspective. This approach towards terminological expressions thus highlights their indications in media communication and at the same time it proves the fact that terminological expressions mirror the current situation in society. Besides this, the study focuses on some specific terminological expressions that either designate recent changes worldwide or name some specific phenomena, which are typical of a particular society with its culture. In addition to this, the study should broaden the knowledge not just of professionals in the field of linguistics and economy, but it might be a useful contribution to whoever is interested in these issues.
