An example of niche tourism / Kristína Pompurová, Ľubica Šebová. -- Currently, the tourism market promote products based on experiences that allow adaptation to the needs of a particular segment, and thus to make the offer different. One of this niche tourism components are events. Based on questionnaire interview, the article also assesses the participation of university students as a special segment at the 27th World Winter Universiade in Slovakia. The results indicate that the level of awareness of students about the Universiade was low, which affected attendance on event. Students have drawn information about event mainly from the Internet. The greater part of them travelled to the Universiade venues exclusively because of the event, but they have spent on event only one day, which could be related to the absence of complex offer of products for selected segment.
