For a fifteen-year-old girl, the escape and the search for a new home in Mecklenburg become a turning point. The study focuses on the processes of literary remembering and the presentation of the past in the novels Patterns of Childhood and the City of Angels and in selected stories by the author, which demonstrate the changing strategies of coping with a traumatic experience
