Short-time work in the Slovak Republic - tackling the personnel management crisis in Industry 4.0

  1. Švec, Marek, 1984- Short-time work in the Slovak Republic - tackling the personnel management crisis in Industry 4.0 / Marek Švec, Zuzana Homer. -- Due to a sharp decline in the performance of the Slovak Republic's economy and a significant increase in the number of unemployed, the Slovak legislator has decided to adopt a permanent solution to maintaining employment, following the model of foreign legislation as a new model in Industry 4.0. However, since it is a Slovak legislator, the first published concepts show that it will be a "short-time work in Slovak". Contradiction with collective agreements or agreements of social partners on the regulation of working conditions, considerations about shortening the support period of unemployment benefits after employment termination of employees, or low rate of support benefit of short-time work is only a short list of examples the new legislation will introduce in the Slovak law. Reflections on how this "new tool" should help the management of human resources in companies in tackling their economic problems are therefore more than justified, and the author's team will therefore try to find starting points in the above drafts, also with regard to experience from application practice.
