Interkulturalita v univerzitnom priestore. Reflexia rozvíjania cudzojazyčných kompetencií = Interculturality in university space. Reflection of the foreign language competences development / Eva Reichwalderová, Jana Pecníková. -- In the paper we deal with the topic of interculturality in a chosen Slovak university. We analyse selected examples of the implementation of intercultural activities in Matej Bel University, with emphasis on the Faculty of Arts. The aim of the paper is to bring an interdisciplinary insight and qualitative analysis. We focus on the field of philology and translation studies. The analysis of the cases led to the conclusion that a foreign language is a basic intercultural competence, which is a key prerequisite for understanding of different cultural identities and thus the development of interculturality. at the Faculty of Arts, MBU, we carry out several activities to support interculturality and to increase the quality and interest of students in this topic.
