    AnotáciaThe current trends of internationalization and globalization within the higher education (HE) been considered, the importance of EMI (English as medium of instruction) and CLIL (content and language integrated learning) approaches is strongly increasing. In the article, the process of EMI and CLIL implementation in technical (particularly Informatics and Management) subjects is described. The content is structured in three parts: (1) the research sample of 80 students and 18 teachers is described, including respondents' motivation to learn/teach through EMI and/or CLIL; (2) the process of students/teachers preparation for EMI/CLIL is introduced; (3) data on their feedback collected via the questionnaire and interviews after EMI/CLIL exploitation are presented. Finally, with respect to collected data, pedagogical conclusions are provided, including didactic recommendations towards improving the process of implementation of EMI/CLIL approaches in higher education.

    AnotáciaChildren who come to kindergarten already have different experiences with the world and ideas about it. They have already developed their own theories of diverse phenomena, and these built-in constructs, which have their own logic and meaning, are very strong. They also often differ significantly from relevant theories of the adult world. However, they are children's own interpretations of various phenomena and therefore they are valuable for them. The emergence of these theories depends on everything that happens around the child. People, things, culture, and basically everything with which the child comes into contact. Therefore, it is necessary to perceive these preconceptions as real, equivalent theories and to approach them equally. The present study focuses on monitoring the work of kindergarten teachers. The kindergarten is considered to be a place where a typical teacher-pupil model of education does not take place. This would create a space for the use of child preconceptions

    AnotáciaThe article presents results of qualitative research focused on the child concept of reward and punishment. The research sample included 20 five-seven year old children from the Czech Republic. The main objective of the research was to discover and analyze specific differences in reward and punishment concepts with children before the beginning of compulsory school attendance (pre-primary school age, 5 6-year old) and after the beginning of compulsory school attendance (1st graders, primary school age, 6 7-year old, 1st graders). Reflecting the main difference between the groups (i.e. non-/attendance of the school), the method of watching a short (7min 22 s) animated movie with direct plot line and clear personal features of main characters, followed by children's drawings was applied. The drawing was expected to express what the children considered the reward and punishment in the movie. The drawings underwent the content analysis, the result of which was confronted with each child within the phenomenographic interview. Further on, child anamnesis relating to school, family and health state was monitored, and collected concepts of each child were considered within the complex anamnesis. The results show the reward phenomenon is mostly understood on the material level (receiving gifts), then on the verbal level (been verbally praised), on the social and experiential levels. On the other side, the punishment is predominantly perceived on the social level (exclusion from a certain social group and its activities), then on the verbal and corporal levels (admonition, threat of corporal punishment). The research results were reflected in recommendations towards increasing the effectiveness of educators' work in the given groups of children. Generally, a higher level of sensitivity against stress under the conditions of direct confrontation with any authority or threat of corporal punishment should be considered by the educators in the researched groups of children. Simultaneously, the increase in the importance of the position of educators and their tools of reward and punishment was discovered, particularly the positive role of reward, even if i tis in the written and verbal, not material forms.

    AnotáciaTeachers and parents often carry very distorted or completely false im ages of today's children. They are lacking information about current research findings on the cognitive development of today's children, as well as the specific features of development of their speech and thinking. The author of this article focuses on this topic and uses the study Children’s Preconcepts Of Linguistic And Literary Literacy At The Threshold Of Education (ICERI 2015, Seville, Spain) as a basis for interpretation of the research findings of the VEGA-project No.1/0598/15 of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic. The aim of this research, which objective is to understand children's preconceptions about the phenomenon of language literacy, has the ambition to reveal the prevailing trends in the area of the development of thinking and speech with 5-6 years old children. As a research tool we used a structured interview, which mainly focused on the semantics of children's testimonies and the level of their language skills. By using qualitative research methods, we have coded and categorized the statements in order to find out how children understand the selected terms that represent the phenomenon of language literacy. The research also has a methodological goal - to provide teachers with current findings and provide them with models on how to identify child development through objectified methods of the research model UCD-ACR-NIM (Understanding Child's Development As Core Of Reflection Via Narration Inside Mind).
